Are You A Coupon Fairy?!?
by Aimee at April 19, 2012 in Do It Yourself, Mommy Tips
A Coupon Fairy is someone that leaves coupons on products in store, so that a stranger who might be shopping for that item can be surprised by the coupon and get that item for cheaper than expected!
It’s easy to do, just simply take coupons that you might not use, go to the store and place them next the the item, or tape the coupon to the item. This is something that anyone can do and it’s an easy way to give back to the community.
***Rules: I know there is no referee to keep people in line, but if you are not going to use the item, then please leave the coupon on the item and don’t buy it. Also, please don’t just take the coupons off the products and steal someone else’s glory. Let’s all be nice and enjoy the fun together!

by Aimee at February 14, 2012 in Do It Yourself, Mommy Tips
This may seem like a crazy tip, but it’s such a useful tip to remember! I don’t ever use the shower caps when I go to a hotel, however my shoes get good uses out of them!
I hate having to put shoes in my suitcase, I don’t want any germs touching my clothes. The solution is so easy! Just put your shoes inside the shower cap! Genius!
Next time you go out of town remember to grab those shower caps!
Weekend Project DIY: Homemade Framed Calendar & Daily Schedule!
by Aimee at January 7, 2012 in Decorating, Do It Yourself, Household, Mommy Tips, Organization
Here is our new calendar and daily schedule system that I made up. It’s in our kitchen, so everyone can see it. I found a frame I had in the house already, painted an existing black matt green and brown to match my home decor, and whipped this homemade calendar system up in just a few hours. I LOVE it to say the least and it’s kind of cool! Look at what you already own and see if you can come up with your own calendar system. It’s way more fun when you don’t have to pay anything extra for a project!
Here is a close-up of the calendar. (Yes I need new dry erase markers, which is why the calendar is not filled up more.) I included a Weekly Menu spot so we would all know what is for dinner each night. The little drawer below our calendar is where I will store the dry erase markers.
Here is our daily schedule when we spend our days at home, which is at least 4 days a week. There are other days when we have activities or I just need to run some errands.
I hope this helps you get organized, and I hope you will make a daily schedule. Children are much more behaved when they are in a routine, and it helps me make sure I’m spending plenty of time with her; instead of being on the computer all day!
Weekend Project: T-Shirt Scarfs!
by Aimee at October 22, 2011 in Do It Yourself, Mommy Tips
This week at MOPS our craft was to make a t-shirt scarf, crazy but soooo cute. I knew I just had to share this idea with you. I love pinterest.com, which I’m sure most of you do, and they have tons of cute t-shirt scarf ideas. Let me share some of the photos with you!
Below is a tutorial that I created, super simple, and oh so cute!
Trim the hem off the bottom of your shirt, then cut strips all the way up to the arm holes and stop. I was able to get 12 strips out of this shirt.
Take each strip and pull it to stretch each strip out, it should look like this. (Here is one look, and you can be done, or you can keep going…)
Then, I cut one end of each strip, so that I could braid one side of my scarf.
Cut a small strip of fabric and tie it around one side of your scarf to secure your strips together and start braiding. Once you’ve done about half, tie it off with about 3 small strips of fabric. Take the other end of your scarf, tie a small strip of fabric around the longer strips to secure them. I then, tied the two small strips together at the top to finish off the scarf.
