I had such a great experience the other day at CVS that I wanted to share with all my local Bakersfield readers.  We had a crazy night where every single shopping trip went wrong for some reason and the cashiers were less than helpful.  We finally went to get some ice cream and I decided to run into the new CVS on Stockdale near Chick fil A.  I had forgotten my keys, including my CVS cards, so I went in and asked if I could still use my ECB’s and get new ones.  They were SO incredibly helpful!  The computer had all sorts of issues and they were out of one thing I wanted but they totally worked it all for me and let me buy another variety and still gave me the ECB’s.  Although it is not the closest one to my house, I will definitely make the effort to go there more often.

I posted the other day about a great new local restaurant here in Bakersfield that is now included on Restaurant.com called Mac N Cheeza.  I just could not resist trying out a gourmet macaroni and cheese take out place.  I bought a $25 gift certificate for only $2.00 using the code FLAG and the link above.  You had to spend $35 to use it so I got on their website to look up their menu.  I thought I would just order the largest size to feed my family and add some yummy things in.  When I called to place my order I checked on the sizes and could not believe how inexpensive they were!  The largest size feeds 10 people!! 

I ended up getting (2) Daddy Macs that were supposed to feed 5 people.  I got one with just ham to bring to some of our friends who just had a baby, and got ham, mushrooms and spinach in ours.  They definitely feed at least 5 people!  We had it for dinner and have had leftovers for lunch several times already.  We added in a few yummy cookies to get over the $35.  All told, we spent $2.00 for the gift certificate and then another $10-$12 at the restaurant making it about $14.00 for plenty of food to feed 2 families!

It was super yummy and my kids loved it!  If you have never tried out Restaurant.com, it is definitely worth it.  You just type in your zip code to find participating restaurants in your area, pay for your certificate and print it at home.  Make sure to read the details about each restaurant as they all have their own limitations, etc.

Restaurant.com is having their famous 80% off sale!  Use the code FLAG at checkout to save 80% through May 31st.  I just checked the list of restaurants and there are some great new ones here in Bakersfield.  I saw this one called mac&cheeza and my tummy jumped!  On a day life today I could use some comforting macaroni and cheese.  Has anyone tried this place?  I would love to know if it is any good?

This past weekend, we were looking for a good deal on eating out so I starting rummaging through my coupons.  I found a booklet that has been coming in the mail called It’s In The Bag.  I found this pizza place with 4 coupons and we decided to try it out.  It is a little hard time find but it is on the corner of Brimhall and Calloway behind El Portal.  The coupon we had was for a large pizza with any toppings, an order of cheese bread, chicken wings or nuggets, an order of potato wedges and a 2 liter all for $19.99.  This was enough for our dinner and then lunch the next day!  We were the only people there and the ambience was not a 5 star restaurant but it was so stinking yummy and such a great value.  We will definitely be going back there.
