What Can I Do?
Does this song not put all things into perspective?
My favorite part is when it says “Of the cross they nailed you to, that could not hold you. Now your making all things new by the power of your risen life”
My hope is that this site and all that comes from it are a Hallelujah to the God who was nailed to the cross because of my sins, but was not held there and is now risen!
“You Stretched Your Arms Out Wide”
Yesterday at church we sand the most amazing song. I have been looking for it on YouTube but they only had a commentary of it. I finally found a way you can listen to it HERE. You can only listen to the full song once though and then it only gives you 30 seconds. I honestly could not even sing this song as tears poured down my face the entire time. The words are so powerful, “You stretched your arms out wide, I lift my hands up high, to my Savior” and then “Chains are broken, shame has fallen, all my sins are gone!”
It took me a while to dig up all the links but I think it is totally worth you hearing it for yourself. If you love it as much as I do, you can buy it on amazon HERE.
**Amber commented below to let me know you can listen to it HERE for FREE as well. They allow you 25 free ones each month. Thanks Amber!
I hope you have a great week!
Help For Haiti
by admin at January 18, 2010 in Faith, Giving Back
Our challenge for giving to Haiti is set to end today at 12:00noon PST, but honestly, I don’t know if it will:) I was unsure about how many people would respond when we first started it. Honestly, I am surprised that I have not gotten more comments and would love to be blown away by the response.
I was reminded again yesterday at church, that our amazing and loving God is in control even in the midst of devastation. He has a plan for Haiti and for the whole world, far beyond what we can see or imagine.
So please, pray pray pray, and give! Whatever amount you can afford, is way more than they had before. When you do give, go to my post HERE to leave a comment and then go to the other sites linked to leave your comments there as well. Just by giving $5.00, you could easily turn it into $20 or much more, just by leaving your comments!

O Holy Night
This Christmas, my favorite carol has been “O Holy Night”. I can’t imagine how the shepherds must have felt as they approached their long awaited destination. The Promised One that they had heard about for so long was now within sight. It brings tears to my eyes and chills to my spine to imagine the scene.
“A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks, a new and glorious mourn”
And then, as they finally reach the stable, and see that precious and perfect baby boy laying that lowly manger and what else could they do but fall on their knees in worship.
“Fall on your knees, Oh hear the angel voices, O night divine, O night when Christ was born.”
That is the reason we celebrate this Christmas. Not Santa, parties, presents or even family and friends. We celebrate that Holy Night when our Loving Savior left His place in Heaven and came to earth as a baby to allow us a way to have a relationship with Him again.
What an amazing and Holy Night it was!
If you do not know about having a relationship with this God who loves you immeasurably, I would love for you to go HERE and watch this video about the Best Christmas Gift Ever.
I hope you all have an amazing Christmas celebrating this gift with family and friends and not on your computers:) I am looking forward to getting my girls up and watching their faces as we celebrate our day with our family and later with friends. I will be back tomorrow with more deals and tips for you.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Three Ways to be Stress Free This Christmas
I thought you might enjoy this article from Cindi McMenamin about relieving some stress this holiday season. Cindi is a great writer and speaker! If you haven’t checked her out, you can visit her website at StrengthForTheSoul.com
“Are you one of those women who dreads the holidays because of all there is to do? Or all you have to buy? Or all there is to eat? If that’s the case, I want to encourage your heart with three ways you can refocus and be stress-free this Christmas!
It’s all about focus. Focusing not on your full schedule, your finances or that inevitable holiday weight gain, but on three areas that can get you through the Christmas season feeling recharged, refreshed and refueled.
1. Rely on God to Meet Your Emotional Needs. As women, it’s natural for us to rely on people around us to notice when we’re stressed, offer a helping hand, or just lend some encouragement and support. The problem is, everyone else around us tends to be as stressed as we are. These are the times to go to God in prayer and pour out your heart before Him. Scripture says God understands our thoughts from afar (Psalm 139:2); He is a refuge for us when we need to pour out our hearts to Him (Psalm 62:8); and there is nowhere we can go (physically or emotionally) where He is not right there with us (Psalm 139:7-12). When we look to others to understand what we’re going through, we are often disappointed. But God, your Maker and Sustainer, knows and understands. Go to Him. And be refreshed knowing He cares and understands.
2. Refresh Yourself in God’s Word. Psalm 19:7-8 tells us God’s Word is perfect, reviving the soul; it is trustworthy, making wise the simple; it is right, giving joy to the heart; and it is radiant, giving light to the eyes. Now if you found something all in one package or pill that revives you, gives you wisdom, bring joy to your heart, and brightens your eyes, wouldn’t you want to take it on a daily basis? Yet that’s what God’s Word does for you. It acts like a daily dose of vitamins for your heart and soul, to refresh you and get you through your day. Second Timothy 3:16 also says that "All Scripture is God-breathed…." Especially at this time of year, I need that "breath of fresh air" from the Living God to act as a "second wind" and give me the energy and discernment I need to get through not just the holidays, but every day. Don’t you?
3. Remember Your Priority Relationships. When we remember what’s most important in life — and at this time of year — it can keep us from stressing out. We were made to love God and enjoy Him forever. And Jesus said the greatest commandment was to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength, and love others as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39). That means that all you think you have to do, and all the money you feel you have to spend, pale in comparison to the people right in front of you. As you start to stress, ask yourself this question: What is most important: The project or the person I’m neglecting in order to get it done? In your busyness this Christmas, don’t neglect the One this season is all about. And don’t neglect the loved ones He has given you to share your life with. Prioritize people over productivity and you’ll find it’s easy to just let some things go. At this time of year, what better gift to give the Lord Jesus (whose birthday it is) than the gift of a quiet heart that says ‘I love You" and "I love this season in which I can celebrate You!"

I Have a Reason to Sing, I Have a Reason to Worship!
Lead Me To The Cross
“Lead me to the cross, where Your love poured out.
Bring me to my knees, Lord I lay me down.
Rid me of myself, I belong to You.
Lead me, lead me to the cross.”
I am reminded that I need to remember the cross more and that amazing love that was so undeservingly poured out on my behalf.
Save More by Collecting the Right Stuff
But lately, my collection has become more of a convenience…and even a little convicting.
My collection is inconvenient because, every few weeks, I have to dust each piece, which takes time that I really don’t have. Plus, the more Cinderellas I acquire, the less room I have to display them; they begin creeping into other parts of my house.
Several years ago, I awoke from an earthquake jolt. I jumped out of bed and ran to my curio cabinet. With feet apart and both hands out in front of me, I prepared to brace my body against the 250-pound shelf to keep it from falling over should the shaking increase. As the house stilled, I remembered my then six-year-old daughter, who was sleeping soundly near a shelf that could have toppled onto her! And my husband, who was still dreaming beneath a large picture frame that now hung crooked. And there I was protecting Cinderella! My concern for my collection had outweighed my concern for my own family. My “treasure” had gotten a little out of hand.
Heavenly treasures are the things that last forever. According to the Bible, only two things will last forever: God’s Word (Isaiah 40:8) and people (Rev. 22:5).
Investing in people means loving them, helping them, having a hand in transforming their lives.
Those kinds of investments don’t take up space in our homes or drive our budgets into the ground. They don’t take time to maintain or time to pay off. They help us live simply and wisely.
If you like the idea of storing up heavenly treasures instead of earthly trinkets, here are some ideas for your collection:
· A “character collection” of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control (Gal. 5:22-23)
· Bible verses you have memorized (Psalm 119:11)
· Worn-out, read-through, marked-up Bibles, full of your own study notes (2 Tim. 2:15)
· People you’ve encouraged with your words (Eph. 4:29)
· Children you’ve loved and cared for
· Seniors you’ve “adopted” as grandparents.
· Smiles on the faces of people you have helped
Are you starting to get the idea? Then go ahead and start storing up. And experience the joy (and the extra dollar!) of collecting the right stuff.
