Tip Tuesday: A NEW Way Of Soaking Beans!

 

 

Do you soak your beans before cooking? I do, I like the texture the bean has when it’s been soaked in water over night. I learned something though that made me think “Duh! Why didn’t I think of that!” If you soak your beans in just water, well you aren’t getting that huge punch of flavor that you could be getting.

 

Sort and wash your beans first, put them in a bowl with water, then ad a clove of garlic and an onion chopped into wedges (you could also add celery and peppers). Let your beans soak in a flavored water instead of just plain water. It will definitely add more flavor and give you a better tasting bean!

 

In the morning, after your beans have soaked, pull those veggies out, drain your beans, then add fresh water, veggies, and herbs to your slow cooker. You will have some delicious beans come dinner time!
