My husband and I are in the process of converting our guest room into a big girl’s room for our daughter. It’s been a bit of a long process, but hopefully it will be completed soon! In the mean time I’ve been working on some DIY projects and this is one of them! I found these battery operated candles at the Dollar Tree today and thought I could dress them up with some scrapbook paper. I’m a bit of a modge podge nut right now, so the whole project really excited me! Next on the to-do list, make some candle holders! Here is a little tutorial of how I did this!

Candles for the Dollar Tree, obviously $1.00 each! The scrapbook paper is from Michael’s and I paid $.99 for it.
I tried to take the wrapping off of them, but it wouldn’t come off, so I just modge podged over the paper. (I was able to get the plastic coating off the paper though)

Cut the scrapbook paper to the size that you want. I did 3 1/2 inches wide and 9 inches long.

I then brushed modge podge of the candle, laid the paper over the modge podge, then modge podged over the scrapbook paper. Tada! That easy! Now mine didn’t come out exactly perfect, but I don’t think anyone will notice once they are on candle holders unless they look closely.
