School Supply Deals 8/8 to 8/14

Hello

Posted by on August 9, 2010

Here are all of the best prices from the major stores as listed in their ads.  Let us know if you come across any other great deals and I will add them to the chart.  I am going to do a little research this week and try to find some of the prices on the BOGO sales.  I will update prices as I find them and as readers comment and email.

.

The lowest prices for each item are in red and I have noted where you have to buy a certain amount below the price. Also, I have noted some size differences in the packages.

  1. Linda says:

Staples has a ton of sales this week too starting at a penny for lined paper. Here’s the online ad: http://bit.ly/7OB8gl

    Thanks for the great chart!!

    • Tiffany says:

Awesome! I will add Staples into it. Kerri had it there last week but they did not have an ad in my paper this week. Thanks for the link!

  2. Angel says:

I was noticing at my walmart in Ok that the crayola crayons are now $1.25 this week but they do have some no name crayons for $.20 a box

  3. Wow, hats off to you for creating a great chart! I don’t even want to think about how much time that must have taken.

    • Tiffany says:

Well, my partner, Kerri who is the creator of the site, originally created it 2 weeks ago and we have had such amazing feedback from our readers. She is on a little vacation with her family this week and I updated it. It took me nowhere near the amount of time to update it as it was to create it, I am sure.:) Thanks for the kudos!

  4. Michelle says:

Thanks so much for this chart! I’ve been wanting to make one up and just haven’t gotten around to it. I appreciate your hard word!

  5. Joanna says:

My Target in Louisville, KY has .15 one subject notebooks and .15 2 pocket folders. The sign by the items says the prices are good through the end of this month. They also have .25 crayola crayons 24 ct.

  6. Thank you very much for the hard work. I am glad I waited without buying the ~$15/100sheet pack of sheet protectors at OM last week.

  7. This is exactly what I needed. Thank you so much : )

  8. Jessica says:

I found pencil sharpeners for .05 cents at office depot this week

  9. Ann says:

Office Depot has kids scissors for .25 this week.

  10. WOW!! I can tell you put a lot of work into the details in this chart. Thank you!!! I linked to it at my blog: http://dealsmom.blogspot.com/2010/08/check-out-school-supply-deals.html

  11. Nicole Miller says:

Forgive my ignorance, but what is Wags? Do they have a “southern” sister type store? I’m in Houston.
    Thanks! This is amazing!

    • Tiffany says:

You are not ignorant..lol…I said the same thing when I first saw the abbreviation. It is short for Walgreens:) They really have great prices this week..but my store seems to sell out early so I would go soon if I were you.

  12. Jen says:

Please keep in mind that many of these deals are regional, which is why you must enter your zip code online when viewing the weekly ads. Also, check local grocery stores. We paid 19 cents each for 2 Elmer’s glue sticks, a bottle of Elmer’s glue, and a 24 pk of Crayola crayons at our local Hy Vee!
All of the Walgreens advertised deals require having a Walgreens card, which is free. Also, if you shop at Payless, you may get one of the $10 off $30 purchase at OfficeMax on your receipt. Hopefully some of you were able to take advantage of a sales tax-free holiday as we did this past weekend in Missouri. Happy shopping!

    • Tiffany says:

Thanks for the heads up! In California, our Walgreens do not use reward cards yet…which probably means they are in our near future…bummer…

  13. Lisa says:

Target has the hard plastic pencil cases for .79 locally in MA

  14. Beth says:

    Where’s Staples?

  15. Cheryl says:

Our office max sale is very different?? I bought wooden rulers with wire edge for .05 limit 6, poly folders .25 limit 6, 10 ct wood pencils .10 limit 3 and paper mate pens 10 ct .10 limit 3.

  16. Bridget says:

Target has the Sharpie Skinny 2 pk highlighters on sale for $0.75 a pack. If you use the Target coupon for $1 off 2, you get 4 hightlighters for $0.50!!! Also there is a Super Sticky Post it coupon that makes them free at Target also!

  17. Lisa says:

I bought 3 of the Schoolio crayons at office max in NC and paid the 16 cents and with my reciept I got a $5 off $25 at Payless and right now they are having BOGO!

    • Tiffany says:

I would have been smiling all the way to the car and then busted out with my Happy Dance! Way to go!!

  18. Ann Marie says:

If you have a CVS X-tra care card, scan it at the machine in the store, and you should get a coupon for $1.00 off a Caliber product. I had to scan my card twice to get it, but I ended up getting 2 packs of 24 pencils for free.

  19. Kiyomi says:

Your chart is amazing! Thanks for posting this!! I signed up for your feed.

  20. Jessica H. says:

Wow, you put a lot of work into this! Thank you so much for all your effort! I am going to go grab some of these now! Ok, well not right now because it is 10 at night, but you know what I mean! :)

    Thank you!

  21. jackie says:

how do I get a list to remind me what e-coupons are on my Vons card?

    • Tiffany says:

Hey Jackie! So in Cellfire.com, there is a printer icon on the left side of the screen where your coupons are saved. In Shortcuts.com, you save the coupons then you hit a tab on the right side of the screen that says View My Coupons. When you view them, there will be a tab for printing them. Hope this helps!!! DOn’t give up!!!

  22. Claire says:

Thank you for taking the time to do this. I have found it very helpful!

  23. For a minute, I thought we must not have gotten the Office Max ad this week. Then I realized all we got was a brown paper bag to fill and get 20% off. No ad, I guess these sales are regional. Bummer!

  24. Mcgall says:

Office depot has binders buy 2 get 1 free. Pack of 5 hilighters for .75, folders for .5 (limit 5), pencil sharpeners for .5 (limit 3), pack of 5 spiral notebooks for $3 and a lot of other deals till Sunday. New ad & coupons every Sunday. I work there lol :)
