Walgreen’s Register Rewards Program
Here is a little help on how to use the Walgreens Register Rewards (RR) program to get the most savings.
- Check out the Walgreens deals for the week in the widget in the sidebar to find products you will use that produce register rewards and the coupons needed to stretch that savings even further.
- Remember you can combine 1 Walgreens coupon with 1 manufacturer coupon for each item!
- Start with the least expensive purchase, then move up to the largest. This is commonly referred to as “rolling”. You check out with the least expensive item first then use the register reward generated from that sale to check out again with a higher value item, and keep going. This helps keep your out of pocket low and allows to you make the most of your rewards.
- You can break up your items into separate transactions, just be sure to be mindful of other shoppers in line behind you! If your store is close to your home or convenient for you to get to, you can make multiple trips throughout the week or go to different stores in your town.
A couple of rules to remember:
- You can’t use a register reward from one promotion to buy more of the same product, or a product from the same manufacturer, or it wont generate a new register reward.
- A register reward is considered a manufacturer coupon so you can still only have one manufacturer coupon for each item. This means one of the items you buy needs to NOT have a manufacturer coupon with it. You can pick up a “filler” item such as an inexpensive pencil or pack of gum to get your manufacturer coupon to item ratio right.
- You can buy multiple purchases in one transaction that produce register rewards as long as they are different promotions. For instance, you can buy one Chapstick, one Huggies and one Softsoap in one transaction and all your rewards will print. You can not buy 2 Chapsticks in one transaction and get 2 rewards, it will only print 1!
- You can have overage (your coupon values exceed your product’s value) but make sure you have other items to absorb it or they will not take your coupons. Your coupons can not exceed the total of your purchases before tax and can not be used towards tax.
- Make sure to keep up with the expiration date of your register rewards so they don’t expire!
It can be a little work but make your plan ahead of time, know the specifics of the deals and be ready to save some serious money!
